During the entire month of October, NTCC¡¯s Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Kappa Delta are presenting several events connected to celebrating local folklore and guest speakers. Each event will also have pizza and water provided for all attendees.
October 7 brought us the Chocktaw Tribal Storytellers and Dancers in the Whatley. The group from Durant, Oklahoma shared their traditional stories through dance and with the campus community.
On Monday, October 14 at 12:30 in the Humanities Room 101, the campus can anticipate a special visit from author, M.J. Hayes.
On Monday, October 21 at 12:30 in the SUB, PTK will host a Bigfoot Booth at the Club Fair, and members will attend the Bigfoot Conference in Jefferson on October 19.
On Monday, October 28 at 12:30 in Humanities Room 101, guest speakers Linda Alford and Chuck Johns will offer insight into the Ezekiel Airship legend and other local stories from the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Museum in Pittsburg.
